Assessment Day & Week

Assessment Day is an annual event that allows us to bring students together in their majors with their major professors for various evaluations and activities that help us explore factors impacting student success and make improvements in our programs. Activities vary from major to major, but might include outside speakers, surveys, critical thinking evaluations, measures of writing skills, focus group discussions or team building exercises.

Because we want input from all our students, Assessment Day is required of all full time students (12 or more credits) though some majors may ask students with fewer credits to participate. We put annual Assessment Day on the master calendar and in the catalog, and try to give as much advance notice as possible, as we believe that the benefit of hearing from all of our students is worth some possible inconvenience for this one morning.
